Safeguarding

Section 175 of the Education Act 2002 gives maintained schools a statutory duty to promote and safeguard the welfare of children, and have due regard to guidance issued by the Secretary of State.

The governors and staff at Holy Trinity fully recognise the contribution it makes to safeguarding children. We recognise that all staff, including volunteers, visitors and parents, have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm. If you have any concerns regarding a child, please contact one of the designated officers.

Prevent Duty

What is the Prevent Duty?
The Prevent duty is a legal requirement under the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 for specified authorities in the UK (schools, health services, police, local councils) to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism. It is part of the UK’s wider CONTEST counter-terrorism strategy.
